So, today I got a mass email to my Chaucer class, with the following message included:

For Tuesday, March 23rd: Review carefully the first half of TC Book I (to line 504) with the help of [classmate], [classmate], and [classmate] who will help us translate and analyze. Is there imagery that we should observe? We will concentrate on TC in class. Outside reading: The House of Fame, pages 347-350 (Book I to line 150) and pages 354-361 (end of Book I, lines 480-508 and Book II), with brief comments from [classmate], [ME] and [classmate].

What?! Me, comment on a thing I haven't read? Only one day's warning? With fifty thousand other things on my plate today?

*grumbles* There's no justice here.

(Oh, great, Jedi, I think that's going to be my new tagline. :))

Aack. And registration too, I forgot about registration.

Can someone explain why I have to see a #$(*& advisor when, as a general rule, I know more about the system than the advisor does when I'm going in?
