I have returned from the beach! Bet everyone really noticed my absence, since I've been so talkative on LJ lately... ah well, hopefully some people noticed when I was gone from AIM for a week.

Myrtle Beach was fun - got to get together with a friend from Wilmington whom I hadn't seen in a year, got to enjoy the sun and surf (and not-so-much enjoy it when it started turning my skin an interesting shade of red I hadn't known was possible on human skin). Also enjoyed going to see/experience Medieval Times, this restaurant-cum-show-cum-Renaissance Festival. Okay, I enjoyed it in the same sense that I enjoy a Bugs Bunny cartoon - laughing at the manifold impossible absurdities and appreciating the rare moment of insight - but hey, enjoying is enjoying, right? Even if we did get stuck with the Red Knight. And no Red Knight in the history of legend has been a good guy. And ours turned out to have at least some fishy connection with the villain, even if he wasn't a villain himself. And, as I expected, the Green Knight turned out to be the hero. Honestly, anyone who's read the story of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight...

...and I need to get off my rant. Besides, it was almost as fun eating with fingers only as it was trying to help my youngest sis try to find the retainer in the dark which turned out to have fallen through a crack in the floor. Further proof that she ought to carry her retainer case around like I tell her! Hah! *puts on saintly, angelic, never-annoying-yet-somehow-always-right older sister face, and prays that K doesn't die laughing when she reads that description*

Anyway, I'm headed back to work, and it may be a long time before I update again - but I should be on AIM during the day. Zai xian! (Chinese. Means "Aloha." ;) )
