Oh. Been quiet lately, haven't I?

Anyway, it's been quite a while since I updated - same ol' same ol'. Trying to work a rather dull job and lacking persistence. Reading voraciously, though mostly books I've read before.

Turning 21 in two days. I'm rather looking forward to it, but as usual, I feel kind of underwhelmed. Birthdays were far more exciting when I was a kid - now, well, let's just say I was looking forward to the Lord of the Rings marathon with far more enthusiasm. And I'm not even feeling old! Maybe it's just that I'm also no longer feeling like every year's a desperately-needed addition to the stockpile, marking time until I can be considered an adult. (Adulthood being necessary for adults to take me seriously.) Maybe it's that I've realized that I'm not big on parties, and any other celebration won't center on me. Ha. That's it. It's my childhood notion that a birthday ought to be a day of complete license, that I ought to be queen for its duration, and in reality, well, the world doesn't stop for one person. Maybe I would have realized it sooner if my bday were during the school year...

Oh well. Time to stop rambling and start working. Don't be surprised if I end up severely editing this; I'm tired and likely to regret almost everything I've said, or at least the way I phrased it. :)
