Dec. 10th, 2004 09:27 pmIt's been a little while since I updated, so thought I'd put in my $.02 about my activities lately - namely, reading fantasy, watching fantasy and Christmas specials, and occasionally studying. Ooh. Lord of the Rings is on TV.
This would be why I'm updating my LiveJournal, and not, say, my Reading Notebook for Chaucer - oops, did I say that? It's supposed to be Medieval English Lit exclusive of Chaucer, but try telling my Chaucer-loving prof that. Eh, I can't really complain, it's allowing me to get 90% of my Reading Notebook by copy/pasting from my previous Reading Notebooks for this prof. Bwahahaha - you recycle your teaching material, I recycle my writing material.
So, now that I've calmly and simply explained to my roommate why The Two Towers film is evil... something along the lines ofPETER JACKSON RAPED FARAMIR MY BABY!!!!!!!! quietly, rationally PETER JACKSON RAPED MY POOR, SWEET BABY!!!!!!!! explaining how SWEET FARAMIR, HOW HE IS WRONGED!!!!!!!! there might have been a few questionable changes made... (actually, I was quite calm and reasonable for me; I settled for a maximum of two groans of agony and three anguished cries of Faramir's name...) well, now that this explanation has been made in response to a question about the quality of the film adaptation from a book fan's POV, I'm free to enjoy the rest of the show, in between viewings of Rat Race. :) See how sane I sound now! See how sane I'll sound tomorrow after trying to catch up on work! Later!
