Long time, no see
Dec. 3rd, 2005 10:26 pmIt's been, oh, approximately five centuries since I've really written here. I note that my default icon is still celebrating the theatrical release of Revenge of the Sith (which, unfortunately, didn't have any icons as good as this Ep II one, so...) I digress.
I don't seem to have written anything of note in two months, possibly because nothing much of note has happened. Work has been busy, work has been slow, a marvelous Thanksgiving weekend gave a much-needed rest, my dog is shortly to be slaughtered for tearing down the curtain across the sliding glass door... same ol' same ol'. Tonight, we watch The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, the old public television one that's approximately three hundred hours (divided by one hundred, if I must stick to boring literal language). I have many fond memories invested in these old Chronicles of Narnia specials; despite third-rate 80's special effects, despite the public television acting (and editing and music), despite the running time, I can't imagine the new movie coming close for me. On the other hand, this is my first time seeing this version in years, and seeing how many flaws are in this adaptation that I adored, I wonder if my standards have gotten too high. Oh well. I resolve to enjoy the cinematic version to the uttermost.
And to change my icon. And do lots of other things. Later.
