EDIT: Apologies for the HTML mess! Fixed, I hope... and back to the entry.

I can't resist.

So, first bit: I totally called it on Harry dying-then-not-being-dead, and I'm proud of it. Also on Snape being on the right side, but not nice, but that one was kind of obvious. I could mourn about being totally wrong about Hagrid dying, but then... I was totally wrong, and Hagrid lives. Tell me where that's bad again?

Extremely glad I was reading the book with my cousins, because my first thought on seeing Lupin and Tonks' bodies was "Oh no, Kate and Hanna are going to hate this..." and not "DIE JKR DIE!"

Was also very pleased to find out that SPEW was not for naught, despite being a bit tedious, and very displeased to see Harry and Ginny's lack of imagination in naming their children. Lack of empathy, too, in the case of poor Albus Severus.

The whole quest felt more like a fantastic journey than any Potter book to date. The Deathly Hallows were totally a fairy-tale thing, and the heroics... I loved it. Oooh! And that I called the Harry-is-a-Horcrux, and that I supported the Snape-loved-Lily theory ages ago when first I saw it.

Okay, a lot of spaces for those who are avoiding spoilers...

... so basically, I totally called it on a couple things.

And my spoiler-free review? Congrats, JKR, you have managed to fulfill all expectations. Possibly surpass. And that was an insanely high mark to be aiming for.

And back to lurking for me.
