What I Did Over My Spring Break
Mar. 15th, 2004 05:24 pmWhat I Did Over My Spring Break
-Celebrated my sister's birthday
-Saw Hidalgo and rather liked it.
-Watched a lot of movies at home: Frequency, The Count of Monte Cristo, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Hello Dolly! (that was under duress, but not as bad as it could have been), Henry V, Intolerable Cruelty, Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring Extended Edition (with actor commentary, which got my friend and I involved in a long game of cups).
-Read a lot of books having nothing to do with school, including most of the Wizard in Rhyme books and Exile's Valor.
-Went sailing
-Knit a scarf in three days.
This is rather laughable since my last scarf -- which was also my first completed knitting project -- took nine months. My excuse: My last scarf was longer, thirty six stitches thick, and knitted on a 10.5 gauge or so. My new scarf was twelve stitches thick and knitted on a 17 gauge and thicker yarn. The bigger the gauge, the more space the individual stitches take. Of course, it's still an awfully long gap, but after a few days' work I usually lose attention so it really drags on.
What I Did Not Do Over Spring Break
-Read Prometheus Bound
-Read the rest of Henry V or start Much Ado About Nothing
-Read Book of the Duchess
-Start Troilus and Crisyde
-Catch up on any of my other Chaucer homework
-Write my 7-10 page paper on "Rime of the Ancient Mariner" which was really due the Friday previous
-Research my term paper on parallels between hagiography and pagan folklore
*sigh* Time to pay the piper. Over and out.
