Beach and books
Apr. 5th, 2004 02:13 pmSo my choir had a lovely tour in Myrtle Beach this weekend. We got to enjoy the joys of the seashore after we were done working -- well, enjoy the sand and sun, anyway, the surf was a bit cold. Not that it stopped a group of stalwart college students from trying anyway. Brr. But lots of fun and fellowship.
Unfortunately, I got little work done. I did manage to get through A Wizard of Earthsea as my poetry prof ok'd it for a topic for our next Evil Poetry Paper -- and who wouldn't choose the tale of Ged over Shelley? I might have enjoyed writing a paper about Keats, but I haven't time to read him before I have to get my paper done.
I also got a bit of Keats read, but not much. So, for the next two weeks or so:
-Read Keats
-Read Chaucer's Troilus and Criseyde
-Read Othello
-Read The Tempest
(okay, fun enough, but then)
-Write 8-10 page paper for Shakespeare class
-Write 6-10 page paper for Romantics
-Write 5-6 page paper on Chaucer, then
-Catch up on over a month's worth of Chaucer Reading Notebook entries
-Research and write 15-20 page term paper relating to the Anglo-Saxon monk-cum-poet-cum-historian Bede, prepare hour-long oral presentation/lesson plan and handout for the class.
Forget March Madness, April's the crazy month. Why oh why do I always end up with so much homework...
